Angestrebte Lernergebnisse:
The students
- know and understand the interplay between system, network and application security
- can independently manage IT security for a technical application in security-by-design from research
- can evaluate existing approaches and creatively expand them for a research question
- can familiarize themselves with the technical use case and reflect on it in a team
- can identify new approaches to IT security for the technical issue
- can determine the IT security requirements for the use case and propose alternatives for improvement
- can implement, evaluate and assess a selected technical solution and identify residual risks
- can independently apply scientific methods of IT security
- can present the results scientifically in a presentation and take part in a discussion
Inhalt:
Current challenges and development of solutions for IT security using the example of a technical use case:
- Selected basics of system, network and application security
- Security aspects of bus systems
- Design and implementation of hardware-related security solutions
- Assessment of secure systems by means of evaluation
- Repetition: basics of teamwork, lecture is project-oriented
Arbeitsaufwand:
Project lecture on selected technical IT security topics;
Assignment of a challenging topic for independent processing and solution of an assigned task
4 SWS = 2V + 2Ü (lab)
Workload: 180h (56 h attendance time + 124 h independent work)

Report
The report comprises an independent and in-depth written engagement with a question related to the context of the course, including the targeted and critical evaluation of relevant literature. It also involves presenting one’s own work in comparison with that of the team, as well as communicating and assessing one’s own results during the oral presentation and the subsequent discussion within the team.
The written work must be submitted in written form.
