Graduates of this module...

  • are familiar with the characteristics of multi-criteria group decision-making,
  • know the CMAA method and can distinguish in which situations it is applicable,
  • develop, test, and evaluate a software tool in a team,
  • plan and facilitate at least one group decision-making process,
  • carry out a team project and evaluate the quality of their teamwork,
  • participate in collaborative decisions and understand their challenges and success factors,
  • present their project results in a presentation and justify their conclusions,
  • reflect afterwards on their role within the team and their individual contribution to the shared outcome,
  • read academic publications and derive insights relevant to their task,
  • reflect on team roles, assess their effectiveness, and make suggestions for improvement.

  • The participants develop a software tool to support group decisions in three-person teams Success criteria for teamwork Basic features of multi-criteria decisions Special features of cooperative group decisions Combinatorial Multicriteria Acceptability Analysis (CMAA) Regular team and coaching meetings Final presentation and report

  • Interest in designing a software prototype on the basis of client interviews
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team
  • Programming experience, preferably in C, C++, Javascript or similar
  • Interest in the realization of research results in the form of a practical software tool

Success in this module depends heavily on the quality of project and team work! The module can be credited as a Scientific Team Project in the programs M-INF, M-WIF and M-INGINF. The number of participants in limited to 18. Attendance at the kickoff meeting is compulsory.
